JUNIORS - here is your "to do" list for the summer in order to be on track to start next school year. Come and see me if you have any questions:
1) Review your final transcript (after mini-term) and let me know if you have any questions/concerns
2) Finish your academic resume (include honors, awards, volunter, leadership, cross-cultural experiences, major projects, and co-curricular activities)
3) Select your top 5-7 colleges and begin working on your applications for admission
4) Set up college campus visits for early fall if you have not yet visited your top schools
5) Use your PSAT results from grades 9-11 and your SAT results from grade 11 to prepare for your SAT that you will take EARLY fall
6) Register for the October SAT (and also September ACT if possible) if your Junior year scores do not meet your college admissions or scholarship goals
7) Get a part time job or a regular/consistent volunteer position or internship this summer
8) Continue to check your e-mail at least 3 times/week
9) Register for FastWeb if you haven't already done so
10) Register with NCAA and/or NAIA if you haven't already done so (if you plan to play college sports)
11) Apply for scholarships you identify through FastWeb or prepare scholarship essays for local scholarships that you know will have deadlines during the school year when you are busier
Remember, I will be back in my office 3 weeks before school starts and you can also contact me on my cell # during the summer if you have any questions. Happy Wednesday!
