Highlights from Northwest Christian University

For those who were unable to make it to the presentation yesterday at lunch, here are some points that I found interesting:

  • They have a "church fair" during orientation to help students get connected to a local church (some of these churches have shuttles, but there is also very good public transportation in Eugene)
  • Students live on campus until they are 21, so the older students can mentor the younger ones.
  • NCU students have full access to UO library so the research resources are rich.
  • Their MINIMUM requirements for admission are 2.5 GPA and 850 on the SAT (reading/math)
  • Students who do a formal visit get an automatic $500 scholarship, and once a student applies, their admissions rep helps them through the financial aid and scholarship application process personally.
